Location
Situated in middle Italy, Casa Fontana
is on the outskirts of the village of Tavernelle and close to the
historic town of Panicale. Lake Trasimeno, with its wealth of watersports,
is 15 minutes away and the cities of Assisi, Sienna, Florence and
Rome are an easy day trip.
By Air: We are approx. 40 mins drive from Perugia with
recently established direct flights from the UK and a two hours drive from a
number of international airports: Rome Ciampino, Rome Fiumicino, Pisa,
Florence, Bologna, Bologna Forli and Ancona.
Car: It is essential to have a car when staying at
Casa Fontana. Though there is a village within easy walking distance, there
is no public transport. You can rent a car at any of these airports or take a
train to nearby Chiusi station and pick up a car there. (Avis, Hertz).
Train: The train station at Chiusi is 20 minutes drive
away with excellent fast trains to Florence and Rome. We would recommend that
you travel by train if visiting these cities for the day as both suffer from
difficult traffic systems.

near Chiusi station.
Taxis: There is a taxi rank outside Chiusi station and
a cab from Casa Fontana can be booked by arrangement.
